Prepare an Ark

Many people know of the story of ‘Noah and the Ark’ as it is often referred to as. One might be able to give a general gist of what happened and even why it happened, but there are several misunderstood facts that people are unaware of or confused. Here are a few things to remember about Noah and his story:

1) Noah and his family were not the only ones invited into the Ark.

“And spared not the old world, but saved Noah the eighth person, a preacher of righteousness, bringing in the flood upon the world of the ungodly;” (2 Peter‬ ‭2:5‬).

If the ungodly in the world would have turned to the Lord in repentance and faith, God would have spare them as He did Noah, but people refused. I have seen someone express their opinion that only Noah and his family were invited onto the ark. How false... “For the grace of God that bringeth salvation hath appeared to all men,”

‭‭(Titus‬ ‭2:11).

“The Lord is not slack concerning his promise, as some men count slackness; but is longsuffering to us-ward, not willing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance.”

‭‭2 Peter‬ ‭3:9‬). God wants all to come to him and enter the ark, but not all will choose Him.

Noah was preaching righteousness and warning sinful men of the judgement of God that was to come. Noah and his family were the only people allowed in the ark because they were the only ones to enter correctly. “Neither is there salvation in any other: for there is none other name under heaven given among men, whereby we must be saved” (Acts‬ ‭4:12‬).

2) Our job is the same today. As a local, New Testament Church we are commissioned to go into all the world to teach people about Jesus. We are not just to teach who He was and His good deeds, but what He has done for us! He has provided a way (an Ark if you will) for us to be safe from the wrath of God and to live in eternity with Him! Noah prepared and Ark for the saving of his house; are you preparing an ark for the saving of your house? Are we warning people of the judgement and wrath of God that is going to come on those who do not trust Christ?
